Dr. Córdova has been a Director of EIX and SCE since 2004. Dr. Córdova served as president of Purdue University from 2007 to July 2012 and continues to be on the faculty of Purdue in Physics and Astrophysics. Prior to that, she served as chancellor of the University of California, Riverside, vice chancellor for research and a professor of physics for the University of California, Santa Barbara, and NASA Chief Scientist. Dr. Córdova is a director of SAIC, Inc. and chair of the Board of Regents of the Smithsonian Institution. She is a director or trustee of the National Science Board, the Center for Advancement of Science in Space, and the Mayo Clinic. Dr. Córdova is a graduate of Stanford University and holds a Ph.D in Physics from the California Institute of Technology.
